Dining Banquet

We have a tight space to work with, and no other seating on the main level. There were some existing brackets on the wall from a really skinny bench, so we utilized them to make a modern clean banquet so you could be comfortable while others cook. For the dining table, we used live edge wood found on site to make the top and our friends at Wy'east Weldworks (and niece of our neighbor) made the amazing base. We got the glass locally at Peninsula Glass Company.

Pendleton Upholstered Headboards

I thought a quick google would reveal easy plans for this idea, but I could not find a single reference! As we are renting the cabin, I knew the Pendleton flair would need to appear in a non-blanket capacity.

I started by drawing up plans. We did two versions, one is for the main room and framed in wood with floating nightstands. The other is all upholstered and has a floating shelf above it for storage and lighting (as it sits in a nook).

Modern Adirondack Chairs

I had a vision of red chairs on the porch, but the traditional Adirondack shape has never appealed to me. We followed this online tutorial I found on Pinterest and they turned out amazing! Made from pine 1x4s they came together per the instructions with a few tweaks, of course.

Weekend One

We went up Friday night after finally closing! We took our camping kitchen up and tried to familiarize ourselves with the place.

Fix boiler? It kept cutting off. Made for a cold morning on Saturday!

Waking up to the forest outside log walls felt viscerally familiar to mornings in my parent's redwood cabin on the east coast. I'm so excited to make this a part of our life here.

PS these window treatments are down already.
