Eat/Shop/Do

FOOD:

Charlie's Mountain View. Really good pub food (our favorite fries anywhere) and beverages. Every nook and cranny here is filled with local history.

Mt. Hood Brewing. Owned by Timberline, this place has is pretty consistent. Not the coziest atmosphere but the menu offers more variety than most places above 3000ft.

Huckleberry's is the best little diner around. Don't leave town without getting a legendary Huckleberry milkshake!

Ratskellar (the Rat) is kid-friendly pizza, beer and pinball.

Legend has it that at one point in time there was only one liquor license allocated to the village of Government Camp and Charlie's and the Rat would alternate nights.

HIKES:

Out the back door is our favorite. Trail connects to Multopor trails, but it can be a bit wet passing through the marsh directly behind the cabin (depending on time of year).

Mirror Lake is right in Government Camp and has awesome views of the mountain.

Bald Mountain is more of an adventure and only possible in the summer.

Tamanawas is great, but a 35 minute trip towards Hood River.

5 other great Mt Hood view hikes.

SHOP:

Valais Ski Shop is legit.

Govy General has most everything you need.
